I was born in Weedow Town. My family migrated to Harrisburg in 1966. I attended Harrisburg Elementary School and transferred to Firestone in 1969 to 1976 and graduated. I attended Lott Carey Baptist mission school 1976 to 1977 and migrated to the United States.
My journey to the United States is a dream that every young child in Liberia hopes will come to realization. My dream did and I would like to use the fruit from my dream to assist the young people and citizens of Harrisburg whose dream to come to America may never come to fruition. The knowledge that I have acquired can help bring some of that dream to them. Many times I reflect on my life and all I have accomplished, I see possibilities for the children of Harrisburg because I know that I have the tools that I can use to bring about change in the lives of the citizens of Harrisburg. The letters after my name means nothing if I cannot use them to make a change in elevating the lives of others. I realize that what I have and the knowledge I have acquired are not of my own but the gift of God. I can never repay him even if I try, but I must become a vessel to use my acquired knowledge and skill to bring meaningful change in the lives of the citizens of Harrisburg. It is this thinking and my passion for helping others elevate themselves to another level; one of the reasons I became a part of this organization, Harrisburg Citizen United for Development, INC (HCUD).
My goal is to help raise funds to support the goals and vision of HCUD. I encourage all citizens of Harrisburg, wherever you reside, to join me in this important effort. To build a better Harrisburg not for our gratification, but for the children and people of Harrisburg today and generations to come. We must give all we can to this work to have a good outcome. Failure is not an option, the people and children of our “hometown” need us to succeed. To reach our goals tomorrow, we must start today. I am marching on, will you join me in this important work?
